A Love Island star has been jailed after attacking a man over a parking spot.

Troy Frith, who appeared on the second series of the ITV2 reality show, was involved in an incident at Sainsbury’s in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. The man was struck with such force that he sustained serious head injuries.

Frith, 32, has been sentenced to one year and two weeks behind bars after admitting to causing grievous bodily harm with intent. Woolwich Crown Court heard how he had grown frustrated whilst waiting for a family to remove a car seat on 27 April, reports the Mirror.

Frith assaulted the man and fled the scene but was tracked down by police and arrested. Investigating officer PC Faye Gubby said: “Frith became impatient while waiting for a family to remove a child seat from the rear of a car, despite there being other car parking spaces available.

“While he indicated remorse by asking about the victim’s welfare, he still caused serious harm to a man over a relatively trivial matter. The judge passed the sentence taking the unprovoked nature of the assault into consideration.”

Frith had featured on the second series of the ITV dating programme Love Island and arrived on day 30 as a bombshell contestant. He left the island after just seven days after his romantic interest decided to recouple.

Elsewhere in Love Island news, Ofcom recently rejected 14,000 complaints over the 2025 summer series. The media watchdog confirmed that it would not be investigating after fans complained about bullying and misogyny.

The show’s most controversial episode featured the Graftie Awards, which attracted 3,547 complaints all relating to the alleged bullying of Shakira Khan, who had been shortlisted for four of the six categories.
