Luke Littler looks set to add another string to his already-loaded bow this week, with the darts icon appearing in a celebrity special of a Channel 4 smash-hit show
Luke Littler, the darting champion who’s been racking up 180s and nailing nine-darters, has landed himself a new TV role with Channel 4. This move is just the latest in a huge career forming.
After blitzing his way to the finals in his first World Darts Championship in 2024 and clinching the trophy at Ally Pally the next year, the Warrington wonder boy’s become a bit of a celebrity. He’s taken his charm to the sets of The Jonathan Ross Show, Bullseye, and A League of Their Own, trading arrows for applause on the small screen.
Littler’s TV adventures are set to hit a new high when he plops down on the Gogglebox sofa for a star-studded sesion this week. He’ll be buddying up with good mate and web celeb, Angry Ginge, as teased on Instagram by the official Gogglebox account: “We’ve only gone and got @lukethenukelittler and @angryginge13 on #CelebrityGogglebox tomorrow!”
Angry Ginge couldn’t hide his excitement in the social media announcement, saying: “Me and the Nuke have joined the Gogglebox family, on Channel 4 this Friday at nine o’clock. Make sure you watch it.”
Meanwhile, Luke ‘The Nuke’ kept it cool, just sitting back with a grin and giving a knowing nod, reports the Express.
While the programme will be taped prior to its release, it’s set to hit TV screens right in the middle of Littler’s World Cup of Darts journey, which is kicking off in Germany this weekend.
Marking his debut in the contest as the 2024 Premier League champion, Littler will team up with fellow England player and darting adversary Luke Humphries for the pairs competition.
With all eyes on Littler’s performance amidst the tough German audience, memories linger of his once declaring he’d swerve playing in the country after copping some hefty jeers.
Mulling over that episode and eyeing the upcoming World Cup, Littler reflected, “I wouldn’t say it’s upset me but I would say I was obviously a bit angry (at the way I played).”
Back when the contraversy first kicked off, Littler took to Instagram with a hot-headed post, swearing off future tournaments in Germany – a post which vanished soon after from the ace’s page.
Speaking of the impulse post, he recently commented, “I did what Gerwyn Price always does – go on Instagram, have a bit of a moan and take it down half an hour later.
“Obviously for myself, with so many followers on social media, so many people see it before you delete it.”
