Man City boss Pep Guardiola living best life at Oasis Heaton Park gig as fans love his ‘jorts’

Pep was dressed in a retro City shirt and denim shorts as he posed for a photo with Noel and Liam’s kids backstage at the mammoth homecoming gig in Manchester on Friday night

Pep Guardiola doesn’t seem to be looking back in anger at his team’s Club World Cup exit — as he’s pictured with the Gallagher clan at Oasis’s huge homecoming gig.

The Manchester City boss, 54, posed for photos with Noel and Liam’s kids in front of a decorative Wonderwall at Heaton Park.

A snap shared on social media shows him smiling as he poses with Noel’s kids Donovan, Sonny and Anais, with Pep wedged between Liam’s boys Gene and Lennon.

Gene, 24, shared it on his Instagram page with the caption: “Pic of the century alright now everyone else can f*** off.”

Gene’s mum, Liam’s ex-wife Nicole Appleton, was among the comments, sharing a love heart emoji and a smiling face. Her sister Natalie said: “Fabulous photo!! Cousins.”

Gene appears to be wearing a jacket similar to the one worn by Liam at the band’s legendary Maine Road gigs in 1996.

Catalonian Guardiola was seen wearing denim shorts and a retro Man City shirt as he stopped for pictures with support act Richard Ashcroft as he enjoyed backstage VIP access.

As the photos did the rounds on social media, one fan quipped: “Of course Pep would wear Jorts.” Another said: “Nothing ever been more certain than Pep Guardiola owning jorts.”

The City diehards returned to their Manchester hometown as 80,000 fans descended on Heaton Park in 29 degree heat amid yellow heat health warnings.

And a cut-out of their beloved club’s legendary manager was also on stage as they came out to huge cheers, alongside a green “Erin go Bragh” flag, a nod to the Gallagher’s Irish roots.

Lead singer Liam told revellers at last week’s gig in Cardiff to “do the Poznan”, a terrace dance made famous by City fans.

Guardiola helped recreate Oasis’ iconic Definitely Maybe album cover to launch City’s 2024/25 kit last September and Noel was spotted at Wembley when the club lost 1-0 in the FA Cup final to Crystal Palace.

Their love affair with the club was cemented when the Burnage boys played two nights at Maine Road in 1996 at the peak of their prowess. The band will play four more gigs at Heaton Park after tonight.
