Hollywood actress Margot Robbie has opened up about motherhood for the first time since welcoming her first child with husband Tom Ackerley in October last year
Margot Robbie has joyfully said that motherhood is “the best”. The 35-year-old Hollywood starlet welcomed her first child, a son, with husband Tom Ackerley in October. Now, she’s opening up about her new role as a mum, albeit with a hint of concern that her baby talk might come across as “boring” to those without children.
In a chat with Entertainment Tonight, Margot said: “It’s like, [when] you try to explain to someone who has kids, you don’t need to because they get it, and if they don’t, it’s probably just really boring to hear.
“So, it’s kind of like: ‘It’s the best’, you know?”.
The couple, who tied the knot in 2016, have kept their son’s name and other details about his birth under wraps, seemingly making a conscious effort to maintain their privacy.
Recent reports suggest they’ve been relishing quiet family moments at home since their little one’s arrival.
An insider told PEOPLE: “They waited a long time to get pregnant, so it was almost unbelievable when the baby actually arrived.
“They’ve both been settling into being parents. They’re homebodies so it’s been lovely to spend the time just them, at home with him. They’re so happy.”
Before meeting Tom, Margot had labelled herself as the “ultimate single gal”. However, the ‘Wolf of Wall Street’ actress confessed that the film producer completely transformed her perspective on love.
Looking back on how their romance blossomed, Margot revealed to Vogue magazine: “I was the ultimate single gal. The idea of relationships made me want to vomit. And then this crept up on me. We were friends for so long.
“I was always in love with him, but I thought, ‘Oh, he would never love me back. Don’t make it weird, Margot. Don’t be stupid and tell him that you like him’. And then it happened, and I was like, of course we’re together.”
Margot wed Tom in an intimate ceremony in Byron Bay, Australia, and she confessed the relationship simply fell into place beautifully.
She continued: “This makes so much sense, the way nothing has ever made sense before.”
