A former MasterChef contestant and TikTok star has tragically lost her life in a fatal car accident. Yanin Campos, 38, who appeared on the popular cooking programme in 2018, sadly passed away while driving home in Chihuahua, Mexico.
On Saturday (August 2), the star reportedly lost control of her SUV and crashed head-on into a parked car, as per local reports.
Photos circulating online show her severely damaged vehicle, before the star tragically succumbed to her injuries in hospital two days later. Yanin’s brother, Raúl Campo, subsequently confirmed her death on social media.
He posted: “To our family and friends, we inform you and mourn the passing of my sister, Yanin Campos. The wake is at the Hernández Funeral Home for those who would like to say goodbye and join us.”

Police have verified that the deadly crash occurred on the Francisco R. Almada highway in Mexico around 6.30am local time, and stated Yanin was behind the wheel of the black GMC Terrain SUV when she collided with the parked car, reports the Express.
The TV personality was rushed to the Hospital del Parque, but passed away in intensive care on Monday evening, prompting police to initiate an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.

Despite only finishing sixth in the TV cooking contest, she returned to the show for a special edition MasterChef: La Revancha.
In addition to being a chef, Yanin was a professional nurse and digital content creator, posting videos and updates on platforms such as TikTok and Instagram.
The star boasted over 100,000 followers on TikTok and a further 75,000 fans on her Instagram page.
Tributes have been flooding in for Campos, with one admirer writing on X: “So tragic-38 is way too young. Condolences to her loved ones. Fame or not, life’s fragile.”
Another chimed in: “Yanin Campos leaves us a legacy of #bravery, #passion, and authenticity. From nurse to dreamy cook, her story is a reminder to live without fear.”
