Mel C exposes reason she skipped Mel B’s wedding as only one Spice Girl attended

Spice Girl Mel C was noticeably absent from Mel B’s wedding to Rory McPhee on 5 July 2025, which saw only one of their former bandmates turn up to celebrate

Spice Girl Mel C has explained why she didn’t attend Mel B’s wedding.

The former Sporty Spice was a no-show at her bandmate’s special day at St Paul’s Cathedral on 5 July, leaving Emma Bunton as the sole Spice Girl who joined in the celebrations.

Bride Mel B, 50, exchanged vows with long-term partner Rory McPhee in a spectacular ceremony at the iconic London landmark, sealing their union with a kiss on the steps outside.

Mel C, who had a conflicting performance in Sweden on the same night, offered a heartfelt message to her fellow Spice Girl: “So so happy for you both and beyond gutted I couldn’t be there,” she wrote alongside a photo of the happy couple, reports the Mirror.

“Excited to celebrate with you really soon. Yipee!” she added, before sharing a behind-the-scenes shot from her Stockholm gig with the caption: “Bit of a soggy one last night.”

Mel C wasn’t the only Spice Girl to give the wedding a miss – Victoria Beckham and Geri Horner also failed to make an appearance, although Posh still extended her well-wishes to Mel on Instagram ahead of the big day.

Victoria shared a glamorous throwback snap of her and Mel with the caption: “Sending love to you @officialmelb! @rorymcphee is a very lucky man! xx”

According to reports, Victoria had prior long-standing commitments abroad and “simply couldn’t be there,” despite enjoying a close relationship with Mel. “There’s no issue between them, they haven’t fallen out. It’s just one of those things,” an insider revealed.

Despite this, it didn’t overshadow Mel’s special day as she and Rory, 40, finally tied the knot after three years of engagement. Mel previously discussed the moment and revealed: “He said, ‘I love you, you’re my best friend and I want to spend the rest of my life with you.’ It was very romantic. I love flowers.”

This marks Mel’s third trip down the aisle, having been previously married to Jimmy Gulzar from 1998 to 2000, and then to Stephen Belafonte from 2007 to 2017. She also has daughters Phoenix, Angel, and Madison from her previous relationships.
