Molly-Mae Hague has been candid about her health battles over the years
The second half of Molly-Mae Hague’s documentary series, Molly-Mae: Behind It All, has finally been released on Amazon Prime following a lengthy wait.
The first three episodes were made available in January, with the remaining episodes dropping today (May 9). The fresh footage follows Molly-Mae as she tries to mend her relationship with ex-partner Tommy Fury and expand her business empire, Maebe.
In one of the episodes, a fan approaches Molly-Mae and praises her for speaking out about her struggles with endometriosis. Despite Molly-Mae’s previous candid discussions about the condition on her social media, this brief scene is the only mention of it in the new episodes.
Molly-Mae has been open about her experiences with endometriosis, including how it affected her intimacy with former fiancé Tommy. She has spoken about the chronic condition causing her “excruciating periods and excruciating sex.”
As of September 2024, a new over-the-counter medication called Evana became available in the UK to treat endometriosis, allowing millions of women to access it from pharmacies without a prescription, reports Lancs Live. Previously, the medication was on the NHS only for those with a prescription.
Before her split from Tommy Fury, Molly-Mae got candid about her endometriosis diagnosis in 2022 and how it affected their romance. She shared the two main symptoms she experienced had been “excruciating periods” and “excruciating sex.”
Molly-Mae admitted: “I will be honest, I do believe the painful sex symptom is what pushed me into getting my problem fixed, into working out what was wrong with my body because not only was I doing it for me and fixing it for me, which is obviously the main reason, I was also trying to do it for Tommy.”
Despite surgery, Molly shared that the pain during sex persisted, saying in the video: “In regards to the painful sex, that unfortunately never changed, it is something that is an ongoing issue.”

Molly’s struggle isn’t rare; Endometriosis UK says about 1 in 10 women and girls of reproductive age in the UK are affected by endometriosis. The condition involves cells like those in the womb lining growing elsewhere, often affecting the ovaries, fallopian tubes, and pelvis. As Molly candidly shared, endometriosis can significantly impact various facets of life, including romantic relationships.
Sexual Health Expert and Lovehoney’s Sexual Health Nurse, Sarah Mulindwa, offered crucial advice on maintaining intimacy for those wrestling with endometriosis, speaking exclusively to OK!
She emphasised: “Listening to your body and setting boundaries is important. If something doesn’t feel right or is causing pain, don’t be afraid to stop and communicate that to your partner. It’s all about finding what works best for both of you.
“Keeping a symptom diary can also be useful in identifying patterns and preparing for times when more support might be needed.”
Sarah then shared practical tips for women with endometriosis to bear in mind during intimate moments. She underscored the importance of taking things at a steady pace and said: “Starting with lots of foreplay can help your body relax and make the experience more comfortable. Foreplay isn’t just about setting the mood – it’s also a great way to help your body prepare, easing into things gradually before penetration.
“Using lots of lubrication can also help reduce discomfort during sex. Certain positions might be more comfortable than others, so it’s worth experimenting to find what feels best. You might want to try positions that allow for more control over the depth and angle of penetration, like being on top.
“Taking care of your emotional wellbeing is just as important. Consider talking to a therapist or joining a support group for people with endometriosis, where you can share experiences and get advice from others who understand what you’re going through.
“Involving your partner in the management of endometriosis can also strengthen your relationship. This might include attending medical appointments together, researching the condition, or participating in discussions with healthcare providers.
“When a partner takes an active role, it can create a sense of teamwork and shared responsibility. Remember, intimacy is about connection, not just sex. Take things at your own pace and focus on what feels good for both you and your partner.”
