Funnyman Nick Frost has revealed how he ate an entire tier of a wedding cake alone in his car.

The 53-year-old actor, who has starred in Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz – and is the new Hagrid in the TV series of Harry Potter – said he used to weigh 35 stone. He is now down to around 16 stone, but said that he had been addicted to food ever since he was 10.

He said that his weight had ‘crept up to 35 stone’ after he gave up booze and drugs in 2018 and described food “as my first addiction when I was 10.”

The funnyman also revealed how he was so desperate to land the role of Hagrid in HBO’s TV adaptation of JK Rowling’s Harry Potter books that he tried to ‘manifest’ a positive outcome.

He said: “I read a thing about manifesting, and I thought ‘Let’s write the word Hagrid down as many times I can’.

“I wrote it down 5,000 times.

“But rereading it back, my dyslexia took over at some point, and I didn’t realise that for 2,000 of them, I’d been writing ‘Hadridge’.”
