A huge drone display appeared above Cardiff’s Principality Stadium ahead of the first night of Oasis’ reunion tour, getting fans excited for what will be an unforgettable night
Cardiff’s night sky was lit up by a huge Oasis drone display ahead of the first night of the reunion tour. Brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher are heading out on a 41-date tour, kicking things off with two nights at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium.
And to get fans excited, as if they wouldn’t be already, a huge drone show appeared above the stadium displaying the Oasis logo. The one-night drone display followed Noel Gallagher being spotted in the Welsh capital.
Ahead of the first night, on July 4, Oasis confirmed timings – and it’s set to be a long one for fans.
Doors will open at 5pm, with the first support act Cast kicking the evening off at 6pm. Their set will be followed by Richard Ashcroft at 7pm.
Oasis will then hit the stage at 8.15pm sharp, and the band is set to play a two hour and 15 minute gig, ending at 10.30pm.
Liam leaked the details before they were confirmed on the official Oasis account, but seemed to have a change of heart as he quickly deleted his post.
That wasn’t the only post and delete from Liam this week, though the second incident saw the singer release an apology.
On July 1, Liam posted a one-word message, including a slur which is often used against Asian people.
Many shared their concern over the racially insensitive post, especially considering Oasis are set to perform in Japan and South Korea on the reunion tour.
Liam deleted the post and shared another which read: “Sorry if I offended anyone with my tweet before it wasn’t intentional you know I love you all and I do not discriminate. Peace and love LG x.”
After the tour kicks off in Cardiff, Oasis have five nights scheduled in Manchester, before dates in London, Edinburgh and Dublin.
The international dates follow in Canada, the US and Mexico, before two more dates in London in September.
Cage the Elephant will open the show on those international dates, as well as Cast at a selection of them.
The Asian leg of the tour follows in South Korea and Japan, before it moves to Australia and then South America.
The tour is set to finish in Sao Paulo in Brazil on 23 November.
