Live music festivals can be overwhelming and to a newbie like me, who has only attended Wireless Festival in the past, camping at multi-day music festivals is just too overwhelming and that’s when I came across The OutFest 2025, an electronic sun festival that’s tucked in Portugal’s hidden gem town along the riviera.
Featuring some big names from the deep house and downtempo music like Hracch and Frida Darko, the festival was hosted at the central garden of Parque Marechal Carmona in the town centre of Cascais.
Spread across two areas in the park, fans can either sit back and relax on bean bags or go up front to the stage and get fully immersed in the beats. It all started under the giant parachute and as the sun set, the crowd joined after watching the Primeira Liga final and Sporting CP fans were in high spirits as they celebrated victory.

When it came to festival wear, I went with this year’s summer trend and dressed up in true Indiana Jones style co-ord while others went for Boho looks and most of the male attendees in their oversized T-shirts and shorts – but we were all there for a good time. The beach club-vibe tracks even made parents and dog walkers take a pause from their duty.
The music turned up a notch when the night drew in, with laser machine and smoke machine setting the mood, the park transformed into a night club and DJs Frida Darko and Hraach took over the stage, bringing high energy music for an unforgettable night.
However, there’s only two food trucks and certainly less options for vegan lovers. Prices for drinks are definitely cheaper than London with a full pint selling at €6.50 (£5.47) and a bottle of water at €2 (£1.68). The shortage of toilet cubicles also saw long queues of revellers lining up.
The OutFest started in the central garden of Parque Marechal Carmona at 2pm and from 6pm onwards, it took place in a mini amphitheatre which was equipped with a smoke machine, lasers and better sound setup.
I left the festival after our burger meal and headed back to Hotel Pestana for a quick rest and went out to the bustling town centre to check out souvenirs. The OutFest tickets cost roughly €25 (£21) and if you manage to book plane tickets and accommodation before the bank holiday rush, I’d say it’s worth going for a fun weekend trip.
