One of Matt Damon’s most iconic films has landed back on Netflix after a long hiatus and fans can finally stream the movie, which is considered one of the best ever made
Matt Damon’s most “powerful” film to date is now available to stream on Netflix.
The drama was directed by Gus Van Sant and stars Matt Damon, Robin Williams, Ben Affleck, Stellan Skarsgård and Minnie Driver. Good Will Hunting’s plot follows Matt’s character Will Hunting, who works at a janitor at MIT.
His incredible mathematical skills are noticed by a professor after he solves a difficult equation. Sadly, Will is plagued with troubles and suffers from his past.
The film has become a cult classic since it was released in 1997 and is widely considered as one of Damon and Williams’ best roles to date. Fans and new viewers can now stream it on Netflix.
Good Will Hunting currently has a 97 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes and although the film is almost three decades old, fans and critics alike still can’t stop raving about the Matt Damon-fronted flick.
One person wrote: “A predominantly engrossing drama that benefits from its compelling narrative and superb performances,” while another said: “Awash with emotion, but never descends in to the mawkish sentimentality that blights so many ‘kid with a problem’ movies.”
Someone else wrote: “It’s writer-stars Matt Damon & Ben Affleck’s childhood friendship-chemistry and the hilarious bickering between the real-life Affleck brothers that generates the magic in Good Will Hunting’. Not to mention a magical performance by Robin Williams.”
A second critic added: “The acting is outstanding; Williams and Damon perfectly embody their roles, creating a believable, poignant, powerful partnership full of uplifting, feel-good triumphs.”
