Black Sabbath legend Ozzy Osbourne had an absolutely savage reaction when Slipknot’s Sid Wilson got down on one knee and proposed to his daughter Kelly at his last ever gig
Ozzy Osbourne had a hilariously brutal response to his daughter Kelly getting engaged.
The rock titan took to the stage for his final ever performance in Birmingham on Saturday (July 5). The Prince of Darkness rocked with Black Sabbath for one last time at the farewell gig, which saw him sat atop a throne and belt out four songs.
The Godfather of Metal suffers with Parkinson’s disease and is bound to a wheelchair these days following multiple surgeries and a near-fatal quad bike accident. But it didn’t stop him commanding the stage and he told the crowd: “thank you from the bottom of our hearts”.
But it was a huge night for the Osbourne family – and just because of the triumphant gig. It turns out that, behind the scenes, his famous daughter Kelly got engaged to her longtime partner, Slipknot star Sid Wilson.
Sid got on one knee backstage at the Back to the Beginning gig. Kelly and Sid share a toddler son, Sidley. The TV star was visibly shocked when he proposed in front of her parents behind the scenes of the Villa Park gig.
And Ozzy stole the spotlight with his hilarious seven-word response to the proposal. In a video shared by Kelly, her mum Sharon says: “We’ve got to be quiet, hold on.”
Sid then looks at Kelly and says: “Kelly, you know I love you more than anything in the world.” Ozzy decides to cut in and jokingly declares: “F*** off you’re not marrying my daughter.”
The crowd burst out laughing before Sid continues: “Nothing could make me happier than spending the rest of my life with you. So in front of your family and all of our friends, Kelly, will you marry me.”
A gobsmacked Kelly turns around as others in the room start to cheer. Sid shows the ring to Ozzy before placing it on Kelly’s finger as someone cheekily jokes ‘about time.’
Kelly, of course, accepts and the pair share an emotional hug in the sweet clip. Sharing the video to Instagram, Kelly said: “Oh and this happened yesterday!”
Kelly’s famous pals and fans were quick to comment with Rylan saying: “OMG KEL!!! Congraaatttsssss.” RuPaul’s Dragrace star Detox said: “Aghhhhhh!!!!!! Congrats angel!!!!”
Ozzy’s last gig at Villa Park saw the likes of Metallica and Slayer come to pay tribute to the band. The metal festival dazzled a crowd of 40,000 and Ozzy and the band played War Pigs, NIB, Iron Man and Paranoid.
