Patrick Kielty’s heartfelt ‘final post’ about Cat Deeley before bombshell split

Cat Deeley and Patrick Kielty have announced they have decided to split after almost 13 years of marriage, with the former couple saying they will ‘continue to be united as loving parents’

Patrick Kielty made a gushing “final post” to wife Cat Deeley.

The social media post was shared back in February 2024, when Cat was confirmed as the new permanent host of This Morning alongside Ben Shepherd.

Cat, 48, was formally unveiled as This Morning’s new presenter replacing Holly Willoughby and Patrick rushed to Instagram to praise his “wonderful” wife.

In a heartfelt caption along with a series of videos showing Cat at home with their kids, Patrick wrote: “I didn’t know what a morning person actually was until I met this woman. She gets up every day with a smile on her face.”

“A 5:30am, whistling in the shower, smile on her face. Then downs two coffees, and gives you the look. The ‘what the f*€K’s wrong with you, let’s do this’ look.”

“It’s not a pretend smile and it’s not just some mornings. It’s every morning. Which is bloody difficult cos she’s married to me. I should also mention she likes a chat. To anyone. About anything. Anywhere.”

This appears to be Patrick’s last social media dedication to his TV presenter wife before she wiped all traces of him from her Instagram profile, following the couple’s bombshell announcement on 29 July stating that their marriage was over.

Cat and Pat first crossed paths whilst co-hosting BBC’s Fame Academy back in 2002, though they didn’t step out publicly as a romantic item until nine years later in 2011. They tied the knot after just 12 months in September 2012 during a lavish ceremony in Rome and they share two children.

In a joint statement released to the PA news agency, they explained: “We have taken the decision to end our marriage and are now separated. There is no other party involved.

“We will continue to be united as loving parents to our children and would therefore kindly ask for our family privacy to be respected. There will be no further comment.”, reports the Mirror.

Northern Irish broadcaster Patrick, 54, currently presents RTE’s chat show The Late Late Show and stepped into the role following Ryan Tubridy’s departure in 2023.
