Peter Andre and wife Emily ’emotional’ as couple make tough marriage decision

Peter Andre has opened up about the “bittersweet” moment he shared with Emily MacDonagh after the couple came to an agreement about the future of their family

Peter Andre and wife Emily MacDonagh experienced intense emotions following a major family decision.

The pair welcomed their third child Arabella in April last year and the couple have decided against expanding their brood further.

Chatting to Bella magazine, Peter explained: “When the baby was born, we looked at each other and we just had this look in our eyes…it was such a bittersweet moment, because we knew we both got emotional, and we knew it was the last time,” reports the Mirror.

Peter, who also shares his children Amelia and Theo with Emily and Princess and Junior with ex-wife Katie Price, says little Arabella “absolutely completes” their clan.

The pop sensation also confesses that he and Emily have contrasting approaches to parenting. Emily, who works as an NHS doctor, draws on her medical expertise and maintains a “strict” stance on banning fizzy drinks for the kids.

Meanwhile, Peter says he’s firm about ensuring the children display proper manners. Emily has previously spoken about her “difficult” third pregnancy and ruling out any future additions to the family.

Speaking on Giovanna Fletcher’s podcast, Happy Mum Happy Baby, she revealed: “It’s absolutely cemented now but we always said it would be the last anyway. We don’t have any more bedrooms for starters so that’s a good enough reason. The car is full. We don’t even have a seven seater anymore because Junior and Princess can drive.”

Emily also spoke about how her step-children get along with their younger half-siblings: “They have a lovely relationship together. Even though the older two have their own lives, so they’re busy and doing their own thing, when they see the younger kids they’re so sweet and they get the biggest hugs.”

“The age gap is so big that it makes it easier because they’re not in competition with each other. Like the younger ones understand that there’s a different set of rules for the older ones because they’re grown ups.”
