Peter Andre has shared a sweet message of support for his daughter Princess, amid reports the teenager has been told to distance herself from her mother Katie Price
Peter Andre has expressed his support for his daughter Princess amidst rumours of a ‘rift’ with her mother, Katie Price.
Earlier this week, the Mysterious Girl singer shared a photo on Instagram of him and his daughter outside Theta Mediterranean restaurant in Greece.
In the caption, Peter wrote about the quality family time he had spent with his wife and daughter: “What a great time we had as a family the last few days …. until next time [red heart emoji].”
He tagged his wife Emily and added: “You were missed @officialjunior_andre.” This comes after Katie Price raised concerns among fans with her appearance in a family photo following her explanation of weight loss.
In the photo, Princess, 18, looked stunning in a light blue bodycon dress, while Peter, 52, was dressed in a floral patterned shirt and beige cargo shorts, reports the Mirror. Responding to her father’s post, Princess simply commented: “Love you”.
Peter’s show of affection comes after reports suggested that Princess was advised to distance herself from her mum, leaving Katie feeling like Brooklyn Beckham. A source told The Sun: “Katie feels isolated and disregarded. She loves Princess so much and is supremely proud of the young woman she is becoming. Princess told her mum that she needed to distance herself publicly and yet chats to her all the time behind closed doors.”
Once inseparable, tensions between Katie and Princess are reportedly causing a rift.
This Sunday, ITV2 is scheduled to broadcast The Princess Diaries, a series focusing on the star’s life and family. However, Katie Price has claimed she was not permitted to appear in the series, with Princess’ father Peter Andre and stepmother Emily being allowed on camera instead.
On her podcast, The Katie Price Show, Katie vented: “Everyone knows she’s doing this documentary – and I’m not in it. Certain people don’t think it’s good for Princess to be seen with me. Certain people that used to look after me.”
She continued: “It’s pathetic. I’m her mother. It’s so sad. When certain people who used to look after me are now looking after..”
In the upcoming series, Princess discusses her childhood, during which she experienced her parents’ acrimonious divorce.
In a frank admission, Princess revealed: “I did have a counsellor, I do still see her every now and then.
“But I don’t feel like I can really talk, so I just write everything down in my notes. I do wish, like, I could have had a more happier childhood. In the sense of like, I had so many things on my plate at a young age.”
