Peter Andre’s wife Emily MacDonagh has broken her silence after Katie Price’s furious rant about not being invited to her daughter Princess’ 18th birthday party
Emily MacDonagh, the wife of Peter Andre, has finally spoken out after Katie Price’s furious tirade about their daughter Princess’ 18th birthday celebration.
Katie, 47, had lambasted her ex-partner Peter and his management team for allegedly preventing her from attending Princess’ birthday party.
During an episode of her podcast, recorded on Princess’ birthday, Katie mentioned her daughter’s upcoming reality TV show, stating: “Everyone knows she’s doing this documentary – and I’m not in it. Certain people don’t think it’s good for Princess to be seen with me. Certain people that used to look after me.”
Emily, who is Princess’ stepmother and has three children with Peter, rarely discusses Katie publicly and usually refrains from mentioning her stepchildren. However, in a candid conversation with Giovanna Fletcher on the Happy mum Happy Baby podcast, Emily opened up about her approach to her relationship with Princess and Junior.
She expressed her awareness of not being their biological mother, opting instead to take on a role similar to that of a “more like a big sister”. Emily explained: “I always feel like, you know, I’m not their mum, and that’s something I always have to make sure I tread carefully with. I always see it, I think I would see it a bit more like being a big sister.”
Emily elaborated: “I don’t know if that’s the right way to look at it, but I think, you know, I always try and give them guidance, but I wouldn’t overstep that. I obviously try and support them like I would do with my own kids,” reports the Mirror.
“I always try and be the same. I’m quite strict though, on my kids. That’s what I would say to the older kids – it’s lucky there’s an age gap, you know? Because then you guys don’t need to worry about, like, silly rules I have – screen time and stuff like that. I’m like, you guys can be exempt because you’re older. The age gap is enough that my kids don’t ask the question, ‘Well, why are they allowed to have the screens?”‘
Last week, Katie expressed her dissatisfaction over how she believes she’s been treated unfairly regarding her daughter, Princess. Starting her podcast with a birthday message for her eldest daughter, the star said: “Princess is now officially an adult so mummy and Princess can now go out together. If certain people would let her be seen with me.
“Everyone knows she’s doing this documentary – and I’m not in it. Certain people don’t think it’s good for Princess to be seen with me. Certain people that used to look after me.”
“You aren’t on brand Katie. You are too risky Katie that’s why,” her sister responded. “It’s pathetic. I’m her mother,” Katie retorted.
“It’s so sad,” she expressed. “When certain people who used to look after me are now looking after…” Katie was then interrupted by her sister Sophie who suggested she “save it for another day.”
