Fans at Reading Festival this weekend are told they “don’t need to worry about getting it up”, but please get your mind out of the gutter as we’re clearly talking about tents
Reading Festival fans have been offered a helping hand setting up their tents.
Around 90,000 are flocking to the huge festival at Richfield Avenue this bank holiday weekend, where pop queen Chappel Roan, rockers Bring Me The Horizon and rapper Travis Scott are set to headline. And we’re sure at least some of these punters will have some trouble “getting it up”. Tents that is.
We’ve all been there, and quite frankly it’s nothing to be ashamed of. It happens to everybody. You manage to find the perfect camping spot and the mood is right, but you just can’t seem to put up your tent correctly. So close to a good time!
But fear no more, as Columbia Sportswear have launched a “first-of-its-kind” tent erection service – Morning Erections – to help campers fight their “tent erectile dysfunction”. They’re helping punters get off to a “stress-free start” at the festival by erecting tents “in a matter of minutes”.
Festival goers struggling at the campsite will get help from TikTok stars Jack Joseph and Bambino Becky and a team of experts using Columbia’s “outdoor know-how”. You’ll find the heroic duo sporting black boiler suits from Columbia with white “Morning Erections” logos on the back.
One hilarious pic from the press release sees Jack and Becky console a deflated camper who apparently “can’t get it up”. But it seems like his tent-related troubles are no more as Morning Erections promises to erect tents “in a matter of minutes”.
Harry Marks, 24 from London, who benefitted from the service, said: “Arriving at a festival with all your gear and trekking to the festival campsite is a nightmare. I reckon it’s even worse than using the festival toilet…on a Sunday.”
Morgan Bruce, 21 from Bristol, is at Reading for the first time this year and admits she was nervous about putting her tent up. She said: “I was bricking it a bit to be honest – I’ve never put a tent up before so getting a hand from the guys was amazing.”
Morning Erections promises to be “swift and effective”, with all erected tents “guaranteed to withstand the wildest of nights”. The service is available to campers “from the minute they arrive on site through a bespoke end-to-end tent erection solution.”
Jack Joseph, who was behind Morning Erections, said: “Getting a tent pitched by the experts at Morning Erections is set to be the best five minutes of your life, or at least your festival…or even your morning.
“We strongly believe that pitching a tent first thing in the morning doesn’t need to be hard.” A press release said Columbia could roll out the service to more festivals across the UK next year following a successful pilot of the scheme.
Reading Festival takes place from August 21 until 24. Hozier will also headline the festival, which has featured iconic sets from Nirvana, Radiohead, Arctic Monkeys, Kendrick Lamar and Patti Smith over the years.
