Hollywood star Rebel Wilson showed off her dramatic weight loss, stripping to a chic white bikini and flaunting her incredible figure on the beach in a sizzling clip
Rebel Wilson showed off her incredible body after her dramatic weight loss journey.
The Hollywood funnywoman lost an incredible 36kg (80lbs) in 2020, when she embarked on a ‘year of health’. Rebel, 44, has proudly flaunted her toned physique with snaps on social media ever since and on Monday (February 24) wowed fans in a white bikini.
She took to Instagram and shared a short clip of herself posing in the chic white bikini set, complete with reflective aviator-style sunglasses, and her AirPods plugged in. Smiling into the camera at first, she then flips the view and can be seen walking on a gorgeous sunny beach.
Captioning her post with a kissing face emoji, her reel features Doechii’s hit song NISSAN ALTIMA in the background. It comes after she admitted she doubted whether she could lose as much as weight as she has.
Speaking to OK! Magazine last year, Rebel said of her weight loss transformation: “’I never thought I could do it. Then in 2020, when I just really focused and did it, I felt sadness, because I’m like, “I’m 40. Why did I not do it 10, 20 years ago?” I felt like this sadness, that I’d hidden away from people and from relationships.”
She has admitted to using Ozempic to aid in her weight loss (despite it not being a weight loss drug). The drug is typically used for diabetes treatment but it has also been adopted by celebrities trying to lose weight.
The Pitch Perfect alum has also written a book, Rebel Rising, which hit the stands in April 2024. In the book, the actress discussed her Hollywood journey and dramatic weight loss.
Shedding some insight, Rebel shared: “In 2020, I did this experiment called “the year of health”. And I lost a lot of weight. That garnered more attention than any movie I’d ever done.
“Then I got an offer to write a book about it. It was going to be “my year of health” but when I got into thinking about my relationship with food and emotional eating I thought, “Well, there’s so many things about my life and past that go into this.”
Rebel, who was known as ‘Fat Amy’ in the Pitch Perfect franchise, admitted her new physique makes her feel like a “siren”. Speaking with Australia’s The Daily Telegraph, she said: “I grew up not really trading on my looks, I was the personality girl.
“But after going through my whole health transformation last year, I’ve been in touch with this ‘inner siren.’ The actress also revealed she’s had more strangers offer to help her out in public.
Chatting to The Morning Crew With Hughesy, Ed and Erin, Rebel said: “Sometimes being bigger, people didn’t necessarily look twice at you, and now that I’m in a good shape, like, people offer to carry my groceries to the car and hold doors open for you. I was like, ‘Is this what other people experienced all the time?'”
The actress explained that before her weight loss efforts she would be “eating 3,000 calories most days”, but since she started focusing on her health in 2020 she switched to a high-protein diet instead.
Now, the actress eats fish, salmon and chicken breast to take in enough protein, while also reducing her sugar intake. However, she admitted that she doesn’t always stick to her diet and lets herself give in to cravings once in a while.
Rebel married Ramona Agruma, a successful fashion and jewelry designer, in September 2024, and the couple previously welcomed a baby girl, Royce Lillian Elizabeth Wilson, via surrogate in November 2022.
