Romeo and Cruz Beckham, the younger brothers of Brooklyn Beckham, have taken to social media to share a series of cryptic posts as the family drama continues to unravel
Romeo and Cruz Beckham, the younger brothers of Brooklyn Beckham, appear to be stirring the pot with a string of cryptic social media posts about “family” and being “vain” as the family drama continues to unfold.
Their posts come amidst reports that their mother, Victoria Beckham, is among several family members who are “disgusted” by Brooklyn’s decision to snub his dad on Father’s Day and ignore his knighthood achievement.
Romeo, 22, whose former girlfriend Kim Turnbull recently broke her silence on the Brooklyn feud, shared a post on Instagram with a friend, captioning it “family” with a crossed fingers emoji. He then proceeded to post several throwback photos of his parents, Victoria and David, in their younger years, including shots of Victoria pushing a pram or carrying one of their sons.
Meanwhile, his younger brother Cruz shared a cryptic screenshot of the Carly Simon hit “You’re So Vain,” followed by a poster with the lyrics: “If I would stick my pen in my heart/ Spill it all over the stage/ Would it satisfy you?”.
These posts from the brothers coincide with the ongoing fallout between the family and eldest son Brooklyn, 26, and his wife Nicola Peltz Beckham, 30, which has overshadowed David’s significant knighthood achievement. David is set to receive a prestigious honour at Buckingham Palace later this year, but the joyous occasion will be marred by the absence of Brooklyn and his wife Nicola, as per reports, reports the Mirror.
While David will have the support of his wife Victoria, 51, and their children Romeo, 22, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 13, it seems Brooklyn will miss out on witnessing his father’s significant career moment.
“Sadly there’s no question of Brooklyn being involved. The whole family is disgusted with him. It’s left a very dark cloud over everyone at the worst possible time. Barring some sort of miracle, there’s no way that Brooklyn is going to show up,” a source disclosed to Heat Magazine.
Brooklyn’s silence on social media regarding his father’s knighthood has not gone unnoticed, especially while his siblings publicly celebrated the achievement. This apparent snub has reportedly infuriated his mother Victoria, leaving her both angry and heartbroken.
“The whole family is devastated by the current situation. The tension had been there for a while but no-one thought in a million years that it would turn this toxic. Victoria can’t fathom why Brooklyn hasn’t been in touch to apologise. She’s furious with him, but also heartbroken,” the source revealed.
While Brooklyn kept mum, Victoria couldn’t help but gush over her hubby David’s knighthood, taking to social media with a loving tribute.
Victoria shared an adorable photo of her planting a kiss on a beaming David’s cheek, captioning it: “You’ve always been my knight in shining armour, but now it’s official. Sir @davidbeckham! ! ! What an honour, I couldn’t be prouder of you.
“Your dedication to the things that matter most – your country, your work, your passion, and most of all, your family – has never wavered. The way you’ve touched so many lives over the years with kindness and humility speaks volumes about the man you are and continues to inspire us everyday. But above all else, I’m so, so proud to call you mine.I love you so much xxxx”.
David himself expressed his gratitude in a statement to the Mirror, saying: “Growing up in East London with parents and grandparents who were so patriotic and proud to be British I never could have imagined I would receive such a truly humbling honour. To have played for and captained my country was the greatest privilege of my career and literally a boyhood dream come true.
“Off the pitch I have been fortunate to have the opportunity to represent Britain around the world and work with incredible organisations that are supporting communities in need and inspiring the next generation.
“I’m so lucky to be able to do the work that I do and I’m grateful to be recognised for work that gives me so much fulfilment. It will take a little while for the news to sink in but I’m immensely proud and it’s such an emotional moment for me to share with my family.”
