Music icon Sam Fender was left delighted after a fan flew 300 miles to bring him a Greggs sausage roll.

The hilarious moment was seen at a gig Fender, 30, played in Paris, France. The songwriter, who has just released third studio album People Watching, was thrilled to see the pastry from home. Members of the crowd allowed the fan to walk through, parting so the flaky goodness of bakery chain Greggs could be delivered to the front of the stage.

A now viral clip of the baked goods delivery saw fans delighted at Fender getting a taste of home while touring Europe. His latest album, People Watching, released on February 21, and a European tour kicked off on March 4.

The post to X reads: “A fan travelled a Greggs Sausage Roll over 300 miles, for Sam to enjoy in Paris.” Fans who were at the gig in Paris say the show was made all the better by a fan delivering a sausage roll.

One joked: “Best evening of my life, and he had some part to do with it.” Another wrote: “Howling this is class.” Others were less thrilled and wondered if the taste of the Greggs sausage roll had not diminished during its delivery time.

One wrote: “That must of tasted rank.” Another added: “Don’t like the way that sausage roll is wobbling like that.” A third worried about the quality of the sausage roll and applied their personal experience with the occasional poor pastry.

They wrote: “Anyone who eats Greggs a lot like me will know this will taste hanging. If it gets cold on the journey to work at home it’s basically not the same.” Some were not as impressed by the hilarious moment and say it is the “worst kind of humour” to fly a sausage roll over to France.

“Everybody look at me I brought a sausage roll to France,” one fumed. Another wrote: “Woulda been heavy funny if he dropped it soon as he got to the front.”

Some even said Greggs was not all it’s cracked up to be, suggesting the pastry train was heavily overrated. They claimed: “Anytime someone mentions liking Greggs I automatically disregard everything they say from that moment forward.”

The hilarious sausage roll moment comes from Fender’s first night on tour of Europe. He is set to play sold out shows at St. James’ Park in Newcastle later this year. Glastonbury Festival fans hoping to see the singer-songwriter behind hits like Howden Aldi Death Queue and Seventeen Going Under were disappointed to see Fender had been omitted from the line-up.

The 1975, Neil Young, and Olivia Rodrigo will instead headline the festival, with Fender nowhere to be seen on this year’s roster of artists.
