Former Made in Chelsea star Sam Thompson has opened up about the embarrassing moment he was “stepped over” by his date as he drunkenly left a nightclub following a break-up
TV star Sam Thompson took a tumble and was “escorted out of a nightclub” by security after having one too many following his split.
The ex-Made in Chelsea favourite revealed he had taken a girl to the venue in an attempt to “make his ex jealous” at the time But Sam, 32, admits he overdid it on the booze and ended up being shepherded towards the exit.
His evening took a mortifying twist when he lost his footing on the way out and went crashing to the ground. Speaking on his Staying Relevant podcast with mate Pete Wicks, Sam revealed he then caught his date for the evening “hooking up” with another bloke at the bar. Adding insult to injury, Sam claims his former girlfriend “stepped over him” as she made her exit from the establishment.
Sam shared the story after Pete spotted a woman taking a spill during rush hour. Pete described how people were “literally stepping over” the woman’s possessions after she went flying when her heel became trapped.
Sam said: “I’ve actually been stepped over before. I’ve been stepped over by an ex-girlfriend, it was even worse,” reports the Mirror.
“I’d just broken up with an ex-girlfriend and I was in a nightclub and I get p****d very easily and the bouncer ushered me out of the club and, I’d just broken up with this girl, and the girl I’d brought on a date to make her jealous in the nightclub, ended up hooking up with someone else.
“To drown my sorrows I got really sloshed, then got escorted out of the nightclub, they were going, ‘You need to go home, you’re too drunk’. Fell over in the little gutter right next to the entrance, she walked out with another bloke, and stepped over me.”
Sam continued to explain that this cringe-worthy moment occurred “years and years and years ago”. The former reality TV star is reportedly seeing holistic nutritionist Steph Robinson.
Earlier this year he was linked to ex-Love Island contestant Samie Elishi, but it’s believed they parted ways a few weeks back. According to MailOnline, Sam has grown close to Steph, who has an impressive following of 170,000 on TikTok.
It’s reported that Sam declared he is “not ready” to jump back into the dating scene after his break up with Samie. In a previous podcast episode, he said: “I’m going to work on myself. No dating, I’m not ready and I’ve realised that.”
He mentioned that his sister Louise thinks he should date someone like Harry Potter actress Emma Watson. He added: “Louise thinks I should go out with Emma Watson, who plays Hermione Granger in Harry Potter.”
Pete quipped: “I think you have more chance with the ginger fella.”
To which Sam responded: “Ron! No, Louise thinks I should go for a British thespian because she thinks it’s a bit different, classy is the wrong word, but well to do.”
Sam was previously in a committed relationship with ex-Love Island star Zara McDermott, but they called it quits last year. Zara has since stepped out with her new beau, none other than former One Direction heartthrob Louis Tomlinson.
