The Spice Girls have announced their first major project together in years as many fans of the 90s icons have been left excited by rumours of the girls reuniting
Spice Girls fans listen up – the girls are working on a brand new project.
Fans of the iconic UK girlband are set to get their hands on some exciting merchandise following the group’s partnership with rugby squad the Red Roses as the sporting outfit vies for glory in a home World Cup.
This collaboration marks the band’s first major venture since they dropped the 25th anniversary edition of Spiceworld in 2022. A collection of licensed goods will be rolled out by England Rugby associates and licensees Castore, Fanatics and Gilbert over the forthcoming weeks.
Supporters can snap up items including jerseys, track jackets, bomber jackets, hoodies, accessories and a special edition Red Roses and Spice Girls rugby ball.
The group have addressed the collaboration and said: “We are excited to partner with the Red Roses in supporting women’s sport, particularly as this year for the first time in history there will be a female president of the RFU – that’s incredible Girl Power,” reports the Mirror.
“We hope the whole country will join us in cheering on the team at the Rugby World Cup, as they build on their great start.”
Red Roses’ Zoe Aldcroft also said: “This is a really important year for us as a team and it’s fantastic to partner with a band which shares so many of the same values as we do and understands the dedication, hard work and perseverance it takes to reach the top and stay there.”
“We also know how critical it is that the tournament inspires lots of people, girls and boys, to get into rugby and benefit from the sport in the way that we as a team all do – friendship, strength, confidence, power, self-expression and so much more.
“The Spice Girls, with their huge following, will really help our sport reach new places, new fans of all ages and further boost the growth we’ve seen in recent years.”
Meanwhile, two of the Spice Girls recently got back together for their first musical performance in years as they appeared on KPOPPED last month. The programme saw legendary Western artists team up with Korean acts to reimagine their chart-topping tracks in the style of South Korean music.
Emma Bunton and Mel B reunited to star in the series and sung their classics Wanna Be and Say You’ll Be There.
