A celebrity spin-off version of one of Channel 4’s most popular TV shows will soon be leaving Netflix and subscribers have just days to binge all the episodes
One of the UK’s most beloved reality shows is disappearing from Netflix.
Subscribers only have until 31 August to binge Celebrity Gogglebox, which will be leaving the streaming platform after approximately 24 months.
The beloved Channel 4 show, a spin-off version of the standard Gogglebox series, has featured a vast number of famous faces over the years. Jamie Laing, Jordan Banjo, Rylan Clark, Cat Deeley, Fearne Cotton, Gok Wan and many other famous faces have signed up to the series since it began back in 2019.
The 2025 starred Hannah Waddingham, Tim Minchin, Craig Revel Horwood, Anton Du Beke, Alison Hammond and her family, Krishnan Guru-Murthy, Ben Shepherd, Munya Chawawa, Roisin Conaty, Joe Wilkinson, Maya Jama, Romesh Ranganathan, Pete Wicks, Paddy McGuinness and a few other silver-screen stars.
This year’s series caused quite a stir as fans threatened to “switch off” their TV sets as a fan favourite duo were missing from the lineup.
Happy Mondays stars Shaun Ryder and Bez were nowhere to be seen, which was a surprise as the pair have been a show staple since the series began.
One viewer vented: “@officialswr Why aren’t you and Bez on #CelebrityGogglebox tonight Shaun? It’s so boring without you two. I turned over after ten minutes.”
The same fan later wrote: “@C4Gogglebox @4Viewers. Where’s Bez and Shaun? Please don’t tell me that they’ve been sacrificed for Alison Hammond? #CelebrityGogglebox has only been on for eight minutes and already been monopolised by her. It’s unbearable. I’m switching over.”
Another disappointed viewer complained: “Way too many people on #Celebritygogglebox now. It’s so ridiculous and means we don’t get enough Bez and Shaun.”
Although some people weren’t happy about Alison’s appearance, others were over the moon to see her on the show. Social media was flooded with praise for the ITV star’s new gig and many viewers were clearly tickled by her family’s cheeky quips.
