Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have announced their engagement as the pop superstar revealed their joyful news through a shared social media post.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” they declared, complete with a TNT emoji. In one photograph, Taylor could be seen weeping with joy as she embraced her newly-betrothed partner.
Travis and Taylor’s romance kicked off in July 2023, when Travis ventured to Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City – not for a Chiefs fixture, but to catch Taylor’s legendary Eras Tour performance. During his podcast New Heights, co-hosted with brother Jason Kelce, he subsequently revealed the true reasons behind his concert attendance.
The NFL star had intended to slip Taylor his phone number through a friendship bracelet, only to discover she steers clear of conversations before and after shows to protect her voice. Luckily, he secured another opportunity to capture her attention when Taylor learnt of his daring move, reports the Mirror.

Come September, Travis faced questioning regarding his romance with Taylor. Sidestepping the intimate enquiries during an NFL + interview, he declared: “I’m not gonna talk about my personal life,” whilst Andrew Siciliano pressed for information.
Yet the speculation reached fever pitch when Taylor appeared to support Travis at his 24 September match, sitting alongside his mother, Donna Kelce, sending both media and supporters into overdrive. Come November, the couple’s connection was unmistakable, especially when Travis flew to Buenos Aires for Taylor’s 11 November Eras Tour show.
Taylor’s devoted fanbase melted when she altered the lyrics in “Karma” to reference her boyfriend’s profession directly: “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs coming straight home to me.”
Several weeks later, Travis openly shared his respect for Taylor in a heartfelt conversation with The Wall Street Journal: “Being around her, seeing how smart Taylor is, has been f*cking mind-blowing. I’m learning every day.”
Taylor also spilled details about their relationship when she was named Time’s Person of the Year at the close of 2023.
In a frank discussion with the publication, Taylor spoke about her massive tour, her relentless commitment to her work, and dismissed speculation about when she and partner Travis became official.

She clarified that by September, when she attended his match, they were already together.
“This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell,” Taylor disclosed.
“We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for because we got to get to know each other.”
The acclaimed artist also revealed: “By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game. We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.”
Fast forward to April 2024, and the pair were spotted enjoying the Coachella atmosphere, with Travis lovingly embracing Taylor as they revelled in some festival entertainment. That same month, Taylor unveiled The Tortured Poets Department, a record that explored her previous relationship with British actor Joe Alwyn and her brief romance with The 1975’s lead singer Matty Healy.
However, the double album also featured several tracks influenced by her blossoming relationship with Travis. When People enquired about his preferred song from the collection, Travis admitted “I might be a little biased to ‘So High School” – confirming the tune was written for him.

June 2024 witnessed a selfie featuring Taylor, Kelce, Prince William and his two eldest offspring, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, shared from her London performance, marking his inaugural official appearance on her Instagram account. It proved a momentous month for the couple as Travis also made his Eras Tour debut at her Wembley Stadium show, donning a top hat and tails for a guest spot on stage alongside Taylor.
In July 2024, during his podcast, Travis shared his enthusiasm about his surprise debut during Taylor’s set, declaring, “It was such a fun, playful part of the show and the perfect time for me to go up there, just be a ham, and have some fun.”
Their romance hit another landmark in August when Taylor made her podcast premiere and revealed particulars of her twelfth studio album on Travis’ New Heights podcast. Prior to the complete podcast being released, Taylor made an appearance alongside her NFL boyfriend and his sibling Jason Kelce, a retired NFL star, on their New Heights show, where she unveiled a briefcase emblazoned with “TS” that held the record with its artwork obscured.
During the segment, she revealed to the pair: “So I wanted to show you something, this is my brand new album, The Life Of A Showgirl.”
The brothers erupted in excitement with Travis yelling: “TS 12”.
