Taylor Swift announced her twelfth studio album The Life Of A Showgirl during an appearance on Travis Kelce’s podcast. She gave plenty of clues as to what to expect including a possible Sabrina Carpenter collaboration
The global superstar is the next guest on New Heights and, ahead of the episode’s release, the brothers shared a teaser clip showing Taylor breaking the news.
Holding up the record (blurred for viewers), she told Travis’ brother Jason: “I wanted to show you something. This is my brand new album, The Life Of A Showgirl.”
An ecstatic Travis then yells: “TS12!”
Details are scarce, but Swifties are already on the Easter egg hunt.
The orange-themed album will drop in October – her website says pre-orders ship before October 13, but stresses that’s “not the release date”.
Fans also suspect the LP could come in two acts, after spotting that it’s currently available for a mysterious “pre pre-order”.
Billboards in New York and Nashville are also pointing to a new Taylor-curated Spotify playlist titled ‘And, baby, that’s show business for you’ – likely a lyric from the record.
It features 22 of her songs, all produced by Max Martin and Shellback, fuelling speculation the hitmaking duo are behind the new album.
That would mark a shift back to pure pop after gentler releases The Tortured Poets Department and Midnights, both largely made with Jack Antonoff.
Martin and Shellback were behind some of her biggest smashes, including We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, I Knew You Were Trouble, 22, Shake It Off, Blank Space, Bad Blood and Style.
Swifties are also convinced Sabrina Carpenter could feature.
Not only did she open for Taylor on the Eras Tour, but one of the 12 teaser images from Taylor’s team includes Sabrina.
Plus, “August 12 2025” mysteriously appeared on Sabrina’s website – the exact date Taylor dropped the bombshell.
More details are expected in the coming days.
