Tommy Fury was celebrated at the finish line of a French Riviera triathlon, but official records show he didn’t complete the full course due to road closures.

The Love Island star, who rose to fame on the ITV2 reality show in 2019, was cheered on by partner Molly-Mae Hague and their daughter Bambi as he crossed the finish line in dramatic fashion.

The couple, who met in the villa and have become one of the show’s most high-profile success stories, shared the emotional moment with followers on social media.

Afterwards, Fury took to Instagram to declare: “I left it all out in the French Riviera. 100km triathlon on 10 days training…. completed.” He also shared footage of his sprint finish, adding: “Go ahead and roast my form… but could you sprint finish after a 100km triathlon?”

However, official timings from the event told a different story as data revealed that Fury did not complete the 80km cycling section of the gruelling course. His tracker stopped at 48km and he was officially recorded as a “DNF” (Did Not Finish).

Event organisers later explained that strict road closure rules meant many amateur participants, around 93 in total, had to cut their bike rides short. To ensure they could still experience the finish line, entrants were allowed to continue onto the 18km run and complete the event in front of family and friends.

For Molly-Mae, the finish was still a proud moment as the 25-year-old influencer has often spoken about how sport is such a huge part of the Fury family’s life, with Tommy’s older brother Tyson dominating the boxing world. She shared supportive clips from the sidelines, showing Bambi watching her dad power through to the end.

But not everyone was impressed as critics on social media questioned Fury’s claims, with one triathlete commenting: “Missed the swim cut off, and bike cut off? Just be honest.” Another wrote: “DNF, which is fine but own IT!”

Supporters, however, praised his determination, with one fan insisting: “Insane achievement… be proud… only 0.01% of the world’s population ever completing this!”
