A TV presenter was left red-faced after sweating live on air.

Ireland AM presenter Elaine Crowley stunned her colleagues after letting a swear word drop while filming in the TV studio. The host, who has been fronting the morning show since 2021, was showcasing her culinary skills in the kitchen when everything went wrong.

Crowley was busy preparing sourdough topped with mashed avocado, chilli flakes, smoked salmon and poached eggs when disaster struck as the 48-year-old, assisted by chef Lizzy Lyons, confessed: “It’s the only thing up till now I was able to cook. Obviously, I’m having a bit of a blind panic now.”

Síomha Ní Ruairc then joked: “I actually don’t poach eggs, so I have a lot to learn from you here, Elaine. So what’s the trick to, like, do you ever overcook your poached eggs? Is that a thing?” reports the Express.

After Elaine revealed she typically ruins boiled eggs instead, she suddenly noticed hers were getting out of hand: “Oh f***, I’ve overcooked my poached eggs!”

Mortified by her outburst, the presenter immediately said: “Oh, no. I deeply apologise! Please don’t complain to the BAI.” Her fellow presenters erupted into laughter as Kevin Twomey remarked: “Live TV… sometimes this happens.”

“It’s a stressful scenario. I’ve worked in hospitality and in kitchens and let me tell you, the chefs are saying a lot worse in there.”

Elaine then mumbled: “First time in my life on air [that] I’ve said that word. For god’s sake.” When the moment arrived to sample her dish, Síomha proclaimed: “In the middle. Perfect. Perfect,” whilst Kevin chimed in with agreement: “Gorgeous. It actually is lovely, guys. I’m sorry. Elaine, well done. You smashed it.”

Just as it seemed the show was getting back on course, Elaine spotted yet another disaster unfolding: “Oh, the toast!” Elaine shrieked as Síomha wrapped up the segment: “We’ll see you back here in a few. We need a fire extinguisher in the studio, please!”.
