‘Uplifting’ Kiera Knightley comedy on Netflix just weeks after sequel confirmed

One of Keira Knightley’s most iconic films, which has been described as “superb” by critics and fans alike, has now landed on Netflix and is available to stream in the UK

Keria Knightley’s most iconic film has just landed on Netflix.

Bend It Like Beckham, starring Parminder Nagra, Keira Knightley, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Archie Panjabi and Juliet Stevenson, was released back in 2002 and follows a young girl who twists the rules to play professional football.

However, her strict and traditional parents won’t even consider the sport as a career for their daughter as they’d rather she find a husband and learn how to cook.

The quintessentially noughties flick has just landed on Netflix in the UK.

The film’s title is a reference to David Beckham’s curling free kick technique which is known as “bending”. The movie was a smash hit as was well received by critics and fans alike as the story challenged societal norms and cultural views.
