Former Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison has come under fire from some fans who believe she’s gone “too far” in letting a black Lab lick the inside of her mouth
Vicky Pattison has left fans feeling queasy after letting her dog lick the inside of her mouth.
The Strictly star, who shot to fame on MTV’s Geordie Shore, posted a clip that showed her sitting on a park bench when her beloved black Labrador, Max, comes bounding over to her. The dog starts licking her face and, to the shock of many of fans, Vicky allowed the pup to lick her while her mouth was wide open.
The reality star was featured in the Instagram reel, titled Walkies, as part of a collaboration with the fresh dog food brand Butternut Box. Vicky apologised to her friend for the sweet (and surprising) interaction with the canine.
“You are gammy,” said Vicky’s friend as the TV star said: “I’m so sorry while covering her mouth with both hands. The friend admitted that she, too, lets her dog lick her face.
She told Vicky: “The thing is, I do that too,” prompting an excited Vicky to shout “Yes!” in agreement. “And like, you know it makes them happy,” she added before leaning in for another kiss.
However, it’s clear a lot of Vicky’s fans were shocked and – quite frankly – disapproving of all the licking. “We all love dogs but that’s creepy,” wrote one.
Another complained: “This is so disgusting. Then you kiss your partner and kids after that, spreading bacteria.” A third said: “Too far,” and another wrote: “This is so funny, mouth open is crazy though.”
A fifth commented: “I love my dogs more than anything but after seeing them licking their bits I couldn’t.” But others admitted they did the exact same thing, with one confessing: “Yes! I do this too.”
Vicky has been unveiled as one of the contestants on the 2025 series of Strictly. She said in a statement: “I’m absolutely buzzing to be part of this year’s Strictly Come Dancing line-up… but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t terrified. I am a not a natural dancer!”
She added: “However, it’s such an amazing opportunity for me to step out of my comfort zone and to challenge myself in a completely new way and I just really hope I don’t make too much of a fool of myself!”
Last year, she admitted she was open to the idea of Strictly and supported her pal Pete Wicks, who did the BBC show last year. She said: “When I found out Pete was doing it, I called him straight away to check he was alright.
“Because me and him are more ”stand in the corner, drink and have a laugh” than the ‘centre of the dance floor’ people.'”
