Wayne Rooney rocked an Erling Haaland-style ponytail as he soaked up the sun with his wife Coleen during a getaway with former Manchester United team-mates
Wayne Rooney rocked a new look on holiday as he donned an Erling Haaland-style ponytail.
The former Manchester United and England captain was pictured on holiday soaking up the sun with his wife Coleen, who showed off her incredible figure in a black bikini, as the two enjoyed a few drinks.
They were snapped poolside pouring drinks, and Rooney was seen jokingly wearing a piece of tied rope out of the back of his hat, mirroring the Manchester City striker’s now iconic man bun.
The joking hairstyle also had a similarity to David Beckham’s once-long ponytail. The newly knighted legend underwent a secret operation to correct a problem caused by an injury he suffered 22 years ago.
Snapped in a hospital bed by his wife Victoria, with the caption: “Get well soon Daddy”. The 50-year-old’s arm was in a sling as he underwent surgery to repair a broken wrist.
Rooney, who is currently out of a job in management after leaving Plymouth Argyle by mutual consent on New Year’s Eve, with the club bottom of the Championship, was joined by his former United team-mates in the getaway to Ibiza.
Michael Carrick joined the Rooneys in their Balearic Island retreat just weeks after he was given the boot by Middlesbrough.
The former England midfielder was the longest-serving manager in the Championship until he was sacked by Middlesbrough, having failed to finish in the play-offs after suffering a loss of form at the business end of the campaign.
Michael and his wife Lisa have regularly joined Wayne, Coleen and their four children on holiday after becoming close friends since their days at Old Trafford.
Rooney also reunited with former Republic of Ireland defender and United hero John O’Shea on a luxury boat trip.
Coleen was snapped looking radiant in a strapless green summer dress with white and purple patches.
O’Shea, now the Ireland assistant manager, has reason to be positive after Ireland drew 1-1 against Senegal earlier this month, shortly before England were beaten by the Lions of Teranga 3-1 at the City Ground.
Meanwhile, Rooney is reportedly being eyed for a sensational return to management at sixth-tier Macclesfield, according to The Sun.
The National League North club looks to find a replacement for Robbie Savage, who is set to leave for National League Forest Green Rovers.
