Phillip Schofield defies health and safety orders during chaotic This Morning

Phillip Schofield ignored health and safety rules on today’s This Morning.

Phil’s defiance came during another chaotic Spin to Win segment, which has already gained a reputation for never going to plan.

And today, it was complete and utter chaos, as the Spin to Win wheel failed to come down from the rafters.

Attempting to get it down from the ceiling, Phil climbed up a ladder to try and pull it down.

Holly, 39, said: “Ahh we’re being told he can’t go up the ladder.”

Phil was then told via his ear-piece that he was breaching health and safety regulations.

A defiant Phil replied: “Health and Safety?! Health and safety in the world we’re living in?”

He continued: “Who’s going into meltdown – the deputy editor?”

Phil, 58, then said: “I can spin it from here, if I’ve got a stick to move it.”

Holly then reiterated to Phil: “Honestly, they’re having a meltdown in there.”

A frustrated Phil replied: “Well the reality is in the world we’re living now – no one can hold the ladder as they can’t get close.”

Phil finally got down for the ladder, and Holly decided to improvise, and created “Dip to Win”.

She wrote different monetary amounts on bits of her script, and ripped them up and put them into a bowel.

In the end, a caller from Tewkesbury ended up winning £1,000, and the bag of goodies, which also refused to come down from the ceiling.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV
