Coronation Street ‘s Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew) looks set to end up in prison as Shelley King, who plays his abused wife Yasmeen Nazir, has hinted his past will be exposed.
Coronation Street spoilers have revealed that Geoff’s abuse will go to a darker level next week as he pretends to kill himself to scare her after she said she wanted to go to her grandson’s wedding.
Shelley has teased that dark secrets from both Geoff and Yasmeen’s pasts will be exposed to viewers as their abuse storyline will be further explored.
She told Metro.co.uk: “Yasmeen began as quite a bombastic, strong person but we will learn more about her. As you know, her husband left, her grandson has gone away and we find out more about him next week and Alya has her own life really.
“Yasmeen is alone in this country to an extent, she has alienated herself from her family for reasons we will learn and she is vulnerable.”

She added: “We will learn more about Geoff too – not to exonerate his actions but to try and look into explaining them or at least gaining some knowledge about that behaviour.”
It has already been revealed that Geoff was charged for causing an affray with one of his exes, convincing Alya Nazir that her grandmother was being abused.
Fans have been predicting that Geoff’s ex could arrive in Weatherfield and finally expose his evil antics to both Yasmeen and their neighbours.

One fan posted: “Hope the police find Geoff’s ex wife. There has to be a story there.”
Another added: “There’s probably a couple of victims in his past.”
A third chipped in: “Geoff’s ex wife needs to turn up with her story. Maybe Yasmeen will see the light.”
A fourth wrote: “I’ve heard that Geoff’s ex comes into Corrie?”
Fans know that Alya has already filed a report with the police under Clare’s Law, a law that tries to help abused domestic partners.

She told Geoff last night that he was known to the police, infuriating him as he threatened her and pushed her into a corner.
Could Geoff’s ex push Yasmeen into finally putting her abusive husband behind bars?
Let’s hope so.
Corrie continues tomorrow at 7.30pm on ITV.
