Georgia Toffolo's grandfather dies as she describes 'too much sadness'

Georgia Toffolo’s grandfather Bertie sadly died this weekend, the I’m A Celeb star has revealed.

The reality star, 25, broke the heartbreaking news in a social media post, as she struggled to come to terms with her loss.

Georgia accompanied the post with a video of herself and her grandfather listening to Frank Sinatra during her 25th birthday party.

Reflecting on the coronavirus pandemic currently sweeping the globe, Georgia insisted she was trying her best not to feel “too sad”.

In a sweet tribute to her grandfather, she wrote: “I’ve been a little bit quiet as we lost my Grandad over the weekend.

“I’m trying not to feel so sad because there’s too much sadness at the moment. I already miss him terribly, and someone sent me this.”

She added: “We had no idea we were being filmed it was my 25th birthday last year.

“We were the stragglers at the table not wanting to leave when everyone else had! I will forever miss listening to Sinatra with you.”

Thanking her fans for their kindness at such a difficult time, the former Made In Chelsea star vowed to keep herself busy as a distraction.

She said: “I’m going to keep myself busy and keep smiling (no more crying – he would hate that) and hopefully the time will go quickly so I can see the rest of the family.

“I’d also like to thank every person who has been kind to us as a family, particularly anyone who cared for him it gave us and him such comfort. I love you Grandy x.”

Born and raised in Devon, Georgia’s parents Gary Bennett and Nicola Toffolo split when she was just a baby.

Speaking to Devon Live in 2017, Gary – whose background is in the scrap metal trade – admitted the whole family was proud of Georgia’s reality TV achievements.

He said: “I’ve been proud of her all the way. I’m just a standard guy, a normal Devon guy who works for himself. I’m extremely proud of what she’s doing and here she is at the moment.”
