Piers Morgan slammed by Lady Gaga fans over his brutal coronavirus snub

Lady Gaga fans have hit out at Piers Morgan after he said she “wasn’t needed” at the World Health Organization’s (WHO) COVID-19 press conference on Monday.

Retweeting an article that said songstress Gaga, real name Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta would be at the event, Good Morning Britain star Piers, 55, slammed: “Why? Has she found a cure? Otherwise, we don’t need a bloody singer there.”

The Stupid Love singer’s loyal army of fans were quick to defend Gaga, 34, though.

They were quick to bring up the fact that the star has raised $35million to help fight coronavirus.

One raged: “Piers Morgan slams WHO for inviting Lady Gaga to their press conference today, says they ‘don’t need a bloody singer.’ Gaga and Global Citizen raised $35 MILLION from more than 68 different corporations in one week for COVID-19 relief.

While another chimed in: “Piers Morgan dragging Lady Gaga and then he realised that she raised more money in one week than his net worth.”

A third probed: “Why is a RAT like Piers Morgan coming for a queen like Lady Gaga? Keep her name out of your mouth sweetie.”

As well as the $35million already raised, Gaga and Global Citizen also announced “One World: Together At Home,” a televised event aimed at fighting the coronavirus. It will air April 18 at 8 p.m. Eastern simultaneously on ABC, NBC, CBS, iHeartMedia and Bell Media networks.

“We want to highlight the gravity of this historical, unprecedented cultural movement … and we want to celebrate and encourage the power of the human spirit,” Gaga said during a news conference Monday.
