Our Girl viewers were impressed by Michelle Keegan’s performance tonight when her character Georgie Lane broke down after making a devastating discovery.
The Lance Corporal learned the truth behind her partner Elvis Harte’s death last season, which has left her nursing a broken heart.
After recently patching up their romance, Elvis (Luke Pasqualino) was blasted from a towering building by a bomb, with Georgie cradling his lifeless body.
In a candid moment on tonight’s episode, Blue (Ben Batt) revealed Elvis had fallen into a trap – with certain members of their base knowing his life was in danger.
He said: “For him to die in a trap like that…”
Startled, Georgie replied: “What the f*** do you mean?”
Explaining that Elvis’ murder had been a set-up, Blue answered: “Omar was luring British soldiers into that building to kill them.”

Later, she raced outside in tears, grief-stricken at the thought that Elvis’ had been tricked into premature death.
Comforted by Fingers (Sean Ward), she sobbed: “I just miss him so f*****g much.”
Fingers managed to cheer her up, wrapping Georgie in a giant hug and muttering: “Don’t crack up on us Georgie.
“You’re the grown-up.”

Fingers was due to return to Europe for his lavish honeymoon with his new bride 48 hours later – but will he survive the battle wound?
