Adam Sandler's co-star Vic Henley dies aged 57 from blocked blood vessel

Comedy Central star Vic Henley has died at the age of 57 from a pulmonary embolism.

Vic was most well known for starring on Comedy Central and The Opie & Anthony Show and for having famous pals including Adam Sandler.

His heartbroken family confirmed on Facebook that the star had died from a pulmonary embolism and that his death isn’t related to the coronavirus pandemic.

Hollywood star Sandler called him a ‘funny man’ while Actress Amy Schumer said he was a ‘great host’.

A pulmonary embolism is a blocked blood vessel in your lungs, which tragically can be life-threatening if not treated quickly.

Vic’s niece announced the news on Facebook, writing: “We already miss him so much and feel the heavyweight of this loss. He was our best friend.

“We love you more than you could ever know, Uncle Vic.”

She added that her uncle “loved his work because it brought him so many of his friends”.

His niece confirmed that he died yesterday (Monday, April 7) after suffering an embolism over the weekend.

His niece added: “The world loved Vic for the smile and laughter he brought to us all.

“The amount of venues he performed in around the country and being nominated eight times for Comedian of the Year tells you a small amount of the respect he had in his industry of work.

“He showed us all how much he loved us by how he showed up for each one of us every single day.”

His famous friends have rushed to pay tribute to him online, as Adam Sandler wrote: “RIP VIC HENLEY. Such a funny man. Loved him.

“Thoughts and prayers to his family.”

Actress Amy Schumer wrote: “RIP Vic Henley. Always kind and a great host.”

Saturday Night Live’s Leslie Jones added: “Losing a lot of folks yo! @VicHenley man was so fucking nice. Heart embolism. Today was a hard day. RIP my friend!! #hardyear.”

Stand up comedian and actor Jim Gaffigan penned: “Vic was such a warm special funny man. I was always excited when Vic was on a show because he greeted everyone with a smile and kindness.

“RIP peace buddy. You were always a light in a dark world. Thanks for being my friend.”
