Good Morning Britain viewers beg 'missing' Piers Morgan to come back on TV show

Good Morning Britain viewers were pleading with ‘missing’ TV presenter Piers Morgan to host the show ‘every day’.

The 55-year-old media personality was absent from today’s show as he only hosts GMB three days a week.

Ben Shephard hosts instead of Piers on a Thursday and Friday, but today viewers begged the journalist to come back and host those two days as well.

Many urged Piers to do the extra days during the coronavirus lockdown as they ‘needed his honesty’.

One said: “As we are on lockdown, do you think you could do GMB more than 3 days a week. The British public need your honesty at this time of national emergency.”

While another wrote: “As much as I love Ben Shepherd on GMB i do really miss Piers Morgan on a Thursday and Friday. Pleeeeease could you do 5 day weeks Piers?!

“At least while this crisis is going on, your country needs you! Stay safe all of you, you’re all doing an amazing job.”

“Awwwww so disappointed that you are not on this morning! We NEED you EVERY morning as you are the only one who asks the real difficult questions and gets us the answers!

“During this time please consider Thursday and Friday mornings too.”

Not everyone wanted Piers to hosts for an extra two days however, with some loving the show when he’s not present.

One said: “Yay it’s Ben and not Piers on my telly box this morning on GMB. Have a great day all.”

And another added: “First thing I do is put on Good Morning Britain. What a difference on a Thursday when it’s Ben and Susanna and all you hear is laughter while you put the kettle on.”

Susanna was hosting today’s show instead of Kate Garraway who is self-isolating at home.

Kate’s husband Derek Draper is currently battling coronavirus in hospital, with the author fighting for his life in intensive care.

A rep for Kate said last week: “Kate’s husband, Derek Draper, has been taken to hospital and is being treated in intensive care with a confirmed case of COVID-19.

“He was admitted on Monday and has since tested positive for the virus.

“Kate, hasn’t been tested, however, she has also been displaying mild symptoms, also since Monday, and as a result has been on strict isolation with her children at home.”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV
