Allen Garfield, who starred in Beverly Hills Cop II and The Conversation, has passed away after contracting coronavirus.
The US actor died this week at the age of 80 after contracting the deadly virus.
Garfield’s sister Lois Goorwitz confirmed the sad news, explaining his death was due to complications from Covid-19.
The star had been living at the Motion Picture Television Fund Home – a care home for retired actors – at the time of his death.
Six residents at the care home have so far tested positive for coronavirus, along with four staff members.

Garfield was born in Newark, New Jersey, and was the son of Alice (née Lavroff) and Philip Goorwitz.
He had appeared in over 100 films and television shows – playing Harold Lutz in Beverly Hills Cop II.
His character swore at Eddie Murphy, Judge Reinhold and John Ashton in outlandish scenes before being fired.
The star is known for having played nervous villains, corrupt businessmen and politicians.
Garfield suffered a stroke before filming his role in The Ninth Gate (1999), however director Roman Polanski opted to use his paralysed face for his character rather than conceal it or recast the role.
He also suffered a massive stroke in 2004 and thereafter was a long-term nursing care resident at The Motion Picture Home.
Before his movie and TV career, Garfield had made a living as a sportswriter and studied acting at night school.
Celebrity tributes for the late star have now been pouring in on social media.
His Citizen Cohn co-star James Woods wrote on Twitter: “Allen and I were friends from our earliest days as actors. We finally got to do some great work together in Citizen Cohn, where he played Abe Feller, a victim of ruthless Roy Cohn and the blacklist.
“He was superb. This is a heartbreaker. RIP Allen Garfield.”
