Hilary Heath, the British actress and producer has died age 74 of coronavirus complications.
She was best known for her acting roles in films such as Witchfinder General and Wuthering Heights.

Heath was also known to perform on the London stage.
Dwyer died last week of complications from Covid-19, according to her godson, Alex Williams, who wrote a statement on Facebook.

After retiring from acting, Heath produced Mike Newell’s An Awfully Big Adventure (1995), which starred Hugh Grant and Alan Rickman.
She also produced Nil by Mouth (1997), written and directed by Gary Oldman.
Heath was married to talent agent Duncan Heath from 1974 until their 1989 divorce.
The couple launched the agency Duncan Heath Associates, which was sold to ICM in 1984.
Duncan is now co-chairman of Independent Talent Group.

Heath was born in Liverpool on May 6, 1945. As a youth, she practised ballet and became a talented pianist.
She then trained in repertory theatres and appeared on stage at the Bristol Old Vic.
Her first feature film was Michael Reeves’ Witchfinder General (1968), starring Vincent Price. In this, she played Sara Lowes, with critics saying she gave a “sensitive performance…intelligent and articulate.”
Of the role, she later recalled “I don’t think that I realised I was the star”.
Heath also appeared Oblong Box (1969) and Cry of the Banshee (1970) as well as Robert Fuest’s Wuthering Heights (1970) – playing as Isabella Linton.
Her many television roles included The Prisoner, The Avengers, Hadleigh and Van der Valk. Her last TV appearance was in a 1976 episode of Space: 1999.
