Meghan Markle given severe warning over 'tell-all' £1.6m TV interview

Meghan Markle’s fans are hopeful she will turn down the offers of a “tell-all” interview after the couple dropped their royal title.

The 38-year-old wife of Prince Harry was reportedly offered £1million to take part in an exclusive TV interview about her life as a royal.

Back in 1995, her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, made history when she took part in a similar interview with Martin Bashir.

A source said: “It will be the most anticipated global TV interview event since Diana’s famous tell-all chat with Martin Bashir.”

Before adding: “Meghan wants to donate all the money to charity – probably the NHS after the incredible efforts of all the frontline workers.

“When she was part of the Royal Family it would have been unthinkable for her to do a solo interview with anyone about her life and how being a princess has changed her world.

“But now she’s very much her own boss and it has put her under pressure feeling that the public have lost their ‘love’ for her and Harry after they took the big step of going on their own”.

Following Meghan and Harry’s decision to move to North America with baby Archie, their fans are concerned such an interview could do damage to their reputation.

One fan tweeted: “If her objective is to earn money, it could work. But if she’s trying to win back the public, it’s extremely risky,”

A second added: “If she does the tell-all it really doesn’t set the best example.”

While a third agreed: “Not a good idea. It’s backfired on so many Royals when they tried to ‘tell their side’ (most recently Andrew of course but Charles & Diana also).”

The Princess Diana interview, which was televised on Panorama, exposed the reality of Diana’s marriage to Prince Charles.

Referring to his controversial friendship with Camilla Parker Bowles at the time, she famously said: “There were three people in this marriage.”

Charles and Diana had separated at the time, but it would be one year before their divorce was finalised.
