Real Housewives of Cheshire's Lauren Simon opens up on 'drama-filled' return

Lauren Simon returns to The Real Housewives of Cheshire tonight after taking a two-season break from the show.

The fan favourite, who is the only cast member to have lived in Cheshire’s Golden Triangle for her entire life is back with a bang.

Simon, 44, left the programme in 2018 but bosses refused to reveal the reasons for Lauren’s departure but her co-star Dawn Ward later cited it was for “personal reasons”.

After announcing her return to the show last month, Lauren has revealed all exclusively to Daily Star Online about her decision to make a comeback.

Lauren makes sure to reveal her return to the show with arguably one of the best champagne-filled party Wilmslow has seen.

Speaking about her break from the show, Lauren who claims she is a “domestic goddess” said: “I spent the year going to the gym, eating healthy, drinking green juices and meditating to help me mentally whilst trying to end the ongoing divorce.”

Last time fans saw the mum-of-two on the show, she was in the process of divorcing businessman Paul Simon, sadly, she added that divorce proceedings are “still ongoing, unfortunately!”

Lauren signed up as part of the original line up of Housewives back in 2015 alongside Tanya Bardsley and Dawn Ward – who have remained friends off-screen.

After reflecting on her time away, Lauren continued: “I missed the girls and I was always coming back to work, I just needed to take some time for myself.”

Famous for their explosive dinner parties and nights out, Lauren and her co-stars are no stranger to drama and the occasional drink being thrown.

However, her entrance party was the complete opposite: “It was a fabulous night. The girls were all very well behaved for me!” claims Lauren.

When pressed about any upcoming drama, she added: “It will come, I promise you.

“Lots of drama, but I feel there was a lot of fun and laughter in this season as we spent a lot of time in Athens so you have a relaxed holiday feel to the show in my opinion.”

Living their lives on camera – it comes as no surprise that the cast occasionally enjoys a night out together off-screen but can be happy to say goodbye to one another.

The Housewives are joined by new cast member, Nicole Sealey for the 11th season

“When the cameras stop we sometimes go out together, but on a bad dinner party we are all happy to go home and relax away from the drama,” added Lauren.

Speaking about her friendship with her co-stars, the businesswoman went on to say: “I hang out with Dawn and Rachel the most off the show.

“But I do see all the girls and they were all so supportive of me when I was not filming.”

With the current coronavirus pandemic sweeping across the country, Lauren revealed that she has lost close friends and family to the deadly virus.

Opening up about the pandemic, Lauren went on to say: “I’m good at self-isolation – I actually did it for a while when I took my year off work.

“I’m just sad at the deaths of close friends and family and I am very much looking forward to getting back to normal. “
