Tom Hanks has opened up about his road to recovery after he, along with wife Rita Wilson, contracted coronavirus last month.
The Hollywood A-Lister was filming Baz Lurhmann’s upcoming biopic about Elvis Presley in Queensland, Australia, when he and Rita tested positive for the bug.
Discussing his symptoms with host Randy Miller on the National Defence Radio Show, the 63-year-old revealed that Rita “went through a tougher time than [he] did.”
“She had a much higher fever,” he began. “She had lost her sense of taste and sense of smell. She got absolutely no joy from food for the better part of three weeks.”

Explaining he suffered “bad body aches and was very fatigued”, he also mentioned his wife’s horrific sickness after suffering side-effects from the anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine – which had been administered for her high fever.
“She was so nauseous she had to crawl on the floor from the bed to the facilities,” he added.
He also recalled a 30-minute workout – featuring simple stretches and bodyweight exercises – he tried to take part in during his time in hospital.

He continued: “I was wiped after 12 minutes. I laid down in my hospital bed and just slept.
“Whoever it was, a doctor or nurse, would come into our air pressurised, isolation rooms.
“She said, ‘How are you feeling?’ and I said, ‘I just had the weirdest thing. I just tried to do basic stretches and exercises on the floor and I couldn’t even get halfway through.”

He continued: “She looked at me through her glasses like she was talking to the dumbest human being. And she said, ‘You have Covid-19.'”
The pair have now recovered from the virus and recently arrived back in the States where they continue to isolate at their LA home.
Filming for the biopic, which features Austin Butler and Maggie Gyllenhaal, has halted until the outbreak has passed.
