After Life fans moved as Ricky Gervais drops tear-jerking new series two trailer

After Life season two drops on Netflix this Friday and comedian Ricky Gervis has. taken to his social media accounts to share a brand new teaser trailer ahead of the show’s highly-anticipated return.

The series follows journalist Tony, played by Ricky, as he struggles to navigate grief and loss in the wake of his wife’s death.

After Life was a huge hit with critics due to its good-humoured handling of a very tragic topic.

Due to the positive public response, Ricky is back with a second series after putting pen to paper once more.

The new series will return to the town of Tambury, and Ricky will reprise his role as Tony, who is still struggling with the loss of his wife.

But as fans saw in the end of season one, Tony is determined to be a better person to those around him.

But with the looming threat of the local newspaper he works for being shut down, can he remain as positive as he vowed?

Season two will land on Netflix on Friday with another binge-worthy six episodes.

The official trailer for the new season first dropped last month showing Tony attempting to help the people around him find happiness.

But leading man Ricky has today shared another teaser advert for After Life season two leaving fans excited for the show’s return.

One fan penned: “Think I might do an all nighter and watch the lot. I can’t wait to watch it.”

Another added: “I will watch it all by Saturday.”

A third said: “Who else cried during this? Nope, not me, was an allergy i swear.”

The cast remains pretty much the same with Penelope Wilton back as Anne, David Bradley as Tony’s father Ray and Ashley Jensen who played Emma.

The second series many not have dropped on Netflix yet but talk has already turned to a potential third.

After the huge demand the first time round, Ricky has said that he would like to do another series but there needs to be “a demand”.
