Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway thanked her fans for sharing their positivity as some revealed they had lit candles for her husband Derek Draper.
Kate, 52, has kept her followers updated on Derek’s condition after he was admitted to the intensive care unit in hospital last month with coronavirus symptoms.
She shared her gratitude as one fan wrote to tell her that her mum, who wasn’t on social media “lights a candle every day for Derek”.
The fan wrote: “My mum (who’s 80 next week and not a Twitter user!) has asked if I could let you know she lights a candle every day for Derek for all those suffering from this horrendous virus.
“We send you and your family lots of love. X.”

Kate replied: “That’s so wonderful – thank you so much and sending love x #staypositive.”
Another shared a story of a patient who was in the ICU for a while and made a full recovery.
“Be positive…” they advised, “keep trying to get verbal messages to him…the subconscious can sometimes hear.”

Kate replied: “Thank you so much.”
Kate’s co-host Ben came back to the well-wisher, tweeting: “Thank you Rich – and thank you for all your messages to Kate, Derek, Darcey and Billy.
“He is critically ill but @kategarraway really wanted us to share her thanks for your continued support and to send her love to everyone who has family members who are ill.”
Ben told GMB viewers a message from Kate last Friday, revealing that she was speaking to her husband every day while he was in a coma.

He said: “She wanted to share that she’s been able to speak to Derek in the evenings in the coma.
“She’s been able to share music with him, to talk to him, to support him.”
“She said, the thing you can pass on to everybody… She’s been able to pass on those messages that you’ve sent to her, to Derek.
“So he’s getting a sense of the support and positivity that’s coming from all of you.

“As Kate said last week, she can’t respond to everybody, much as she wishes she’d love to be able to.
“In quieter moments, she can scroll through them. The emotion and support she’s getting from everyone is really, really helping.”
GMB continues tomorrow at 6am on ITV.
