Fresh Prince of Bel-Air cast reunite as they pay touching tribute to late star

With time on their hands due to the covid-19 lockdown, Will Smith finally managed to rally together the cast of the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air virutal reunion on his Snapchat show, Will at Home.

During the epic video call, the group shared an emotional and fitting tribute to one of their late colleagues.

The sitcom ran from 1990 to 1996, and still to this day boasts a loyal fanbase across the globe.

Getting the beloved gang back together for the two-part episode, fans were overwhelmed with the ensemble, however, there was someone missing – Uncle Phil.

James Avery, who portrayed Philip Banks in the show, sadly passed away from complications following open-heart surgery at Glendale Memorial Medical Center, aged 68 in 2013.

Paying their respects to their former co-star and friend, the Hollywood actor played a touching tribute video for the cast dedicated to Avery which featured a series of some of his best moments on the show.

All the cast looked visibly upset as the scenes played out on the video chat, and they also managed to embrace the actor’s comedic timing, and let out a few laughs.

When the video ended, Will, who looked emotional, said: “That just makes me teary…James Avery, James Avery, James Avery.”

Daphne Reid, who played James’ on screen wife Aunt Viv, added: “I loved that man.”

The cast, who included Tatyana Ali, Alfonso RIbiero, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Karyn Parsons and Joseph Marcell, were touched by the remembrance video and shed tears for their late friend.

Following the call, Will later posted the clip on Instagram with the caption: “Our show wouldn’t have been half what it was without the talent and light that was James Avery. We all love and miss you, James.”

Many fans rushed to the comment section of the post, writing: ” Rest in peace Uncle Phil.”
