Lorraine viewers slam 'ridiculous' shopping segment amid coronavirus outbreak

Lorraine viewers weren’t happy over a shopping segment on the show today.

The Lorraine Kelly programme, which currently airs at the end of Good Morning Britain, saw fashion correspondent Mark Heyes lead a segment on products people could buy in lockdown.

These included candles costing £20, an £80 print and diffusers that would set you back £38.

Despite the fact some of the money was going to charity, viewers were raging of the ‘ridiculous’ and ‘overpriced’ products – despite some of the money going to charity.

It was pointed out online that many wouldn’t be able to afford the products after losing their jobs or taking a pay cut amid the coronavirus lockdown.

One viewer raged on Twitter: “Lorraine advertising £20 candles and £38 diffusers, what a joke! People are out of work and can barely afford a food shop.”

While another added: “I love the NHS but I would not pay £80 for that ridiculously overpriced print I could have make myself where only £10 goes to charity.”

While a fourth chimed in : “£38 for a diffuser, f**k off #Lorraine.”

The comments come as fans were also annoyed at Lorraine yesterday for cutting of Coronation Street Geoff Metcalfe actor Ian Bartholomew.

Lorraine was branded ‘rude’ by some viewers as she cut off the actor at the end of the show while he was calling her a “living legend”.

Good Morning Britain airs weeks on ITV at 6am
