Corrie's Helen Flanagan rescued after breaking down while delivering PPE for NHS

Helen Flanagan revealed she was stranded on the motorway and had to be rescued after breaking down.

The 29-year-old soap star, who shot to fame on Coronation Street playing Rosie Webster, told her fans all about the stressful ordeal as her car broke down in the middle of nowhere.

Helen was delivering PPE to the NHS during the coronavirus crisis when her vehicle came to a sudden stop. Luckily the AA came to her rescue.

She filmed herself after breaking down on the main road, telling her 922k followers in an Instagram video: “So I broke down on the motorway today. I’m delivering some PPE.

“And anyway I broke down, but the AA are coming, I’m near a farm, I’m completely safe.”

She continued explaining her situation to fans as she waiting for the breakdown service arrive.

The mum-of-two told her fans of an adorable moment she had with her eldest daughter after her road disaster.

Her adorable child Matilda had said to her stranded mum: “Mummy I love you, are you okay?”

The brunette bombshell kept her followers updated with her situation, and let them know that after the AA arrived, they went above and beyond to help her.

Unfortunately the car wasn’t in a good state, but the rescue service delivered the PPE for Helen themselves.

She took a photograph of the company’s van and wrote on the snap her appreciation for their assistance.

Helen said: “So car doesn’t look good but amazing service from @theaa_uk.

“I was two hours away from dropping off the PPE and Darren from @theaa_uk is travelling all the way to drop the PPE off @scrubs4heroes. Thank you.”

Helen has been doing her bit during the coronavirus pandemic as she recently appealed for fans toto volunteer to make scrubs for NHS staff during the COVID-19 crisis.

She shared a snap wearing hospital attire which was hand sewn by her sister for the charity Scrubs4Heroes.

Helen told her followers: “The scrubs I am wearing here are going to be collected this week and given to the NHS Trust, I am wearing these to raise awareness and encourage volunteers.”
