Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden was back on our screens this evening on The One Show.
Host Alex Jones was joined by guest presenter Gethin Jones in the studio this evening for Thursday’s edition of the BBC flagship show.
Television personality Amanda, 49, appeared on the show tonight to chat about her her latest project which is extremely close to her heart.
Over the last few weeks, singers and musicians have been releasing charity singles to raise money for key workers during the lockdown.
Heart radio presenter Amanda has got involved with her very own rendition of Over The Rainbow.
The former Wild At Heart actress is raising funds for NHS Charities Together to support NHS staff and volunteers caring for COVID-19 patients.
Before Amanda got the chance to chat about her new single, Gethin introduced her by bringing up her daughter Hollie hitting the headlines earlier this week claiming that Simon Cowell had “split up” from his long-term partner Lauren Silverman during an Instagram live chat.
Cheeky Gethin said: “At the start of lockdown I was worried about you Amanda.
“You were putting the bins out in your ballgown and put on your wedding dress to mow the lawn, and Hollie has been in the news this week.”
Amanda quickly replied: “Poor old Hollie. Who quotes an eight-year-old?”
Host Alex added: “It was just an innocent comment.”
“Yeah, little sausage,” Amanda simply responded.
Amanda recently said of the incident: “I can’t believe there is even an article about what my 8 year old daughter said. Hollie last saw Lauren when she was about to board a plane back to America during BGT auditions to go and visit her eldest son and so I can only presume that’s what made her – incorrectly – think it. In reality, Lauren and I have even been exchanging photos of our families in lockdown. And Simon’s even learned how to cook!”
The telly bombshell went on to chat about the emotional reason behind her new single, the latest series of Britain’s Got Talent and life in coronavirus lockdown.
Amanda’s youngest daughter Hollie caused confusion earlier this week when she joined her famous mum on an Instagram live chat with 1.8 followers.
Taking to her fans about her boss Simon Cowell, Amanda explained: “Lauren, Simon’s girlfriend, sent me some lovely pictures of them cooking together the other day. Simon’s quite good at cooking I think. So I think they won’t have a chef now.”
Confused, Hollie then asked: “I thought they broke up?”
To which her mum hurriedly answered: “Simon and Lauren? Don’t be stupid!” before continuing on with her story.
Simon and Lauren have been together since 2013 and share six year old Eric together.
The One Show airs weekdays on BBC One at 7pm
