First Dates fans gobsmacked as bisexual pals ditch their dates and get together

First Dates Hotel made history tonight, when two pals left their dates behind, opting instead to embark on a romance together.

Estate agent Georgia, 26, bumped into her pal Rachael by the poolside, with both secretly confessing they had a crush on one another.

Rachael admitted: “I had a crush on her when my friend showed me her on social media. She’s even better in person.”

However, the two friends were due to head on dates with two single men, making eye contact with one another from across the restaurant.

At the end of the evening, both Georgia and Rachael decided they were better off as friends with the two blokes.

Paired with tattooed hunk Blain, Rachael said: “I’ve had a really nice time with you. But I wasn’t expecting to see my friend Georgia.

Ditching the lads, they decided to spend the rest of the evening together.

Explaining her decision to Georgia, Rachael said: “He was a great guy but I fancy you.”

Taking to Twitter, viewers expressed their surprise over the unexpected twist, as Georgia and Rachel sipped on prosecco under a blanket together.

One gushed: “This is THE BEST conclusion to a cliffhanger EVER. EVER.”

A second agreed: “YEEEES Georgia is still single babe!”

“Highlight of the TV week,” added a third.

Fred Sirieix gave the romance his seal of approval when he happened across the budding romance outside the restaurant.

Leaving the lovebirds to catch up, he exclaimed: “There you go, and you start your dates!”

However, when the two friends returned to Leicester, they both decided they were looking for a male partner on a long term basis.

First Dates Hotel airs on Thursdays at 9pm on Channel 4.
