Queen rocker Brian May revealed that he had been hospitalised after tearing his bum “to shreds” while gardening.
The rockstar, 72, informed his legion of fans that the injury had left him in severe pain, resulting in him being unable to walk.
Brian took to his Instagram page to share a snap of him donning a surgical mask as he was whisked through a hospital.
Addressing his 2.4 million Instagram followers, the Bohemian Rhapsody star assured fans “the virus didn’t get me yet – thank god.”
He went on to divulge: “Yes, I’ve been quiet. Reason? As well as getting over-stretched and harassed by too many demands…

“I managed to rip my Gluteus Maximus to shreds in a moment of over-enthusiastic gardening.
“So suddenly I find myself in a hospital getting scanned to find out exactly how much I’ve actually damaged myself.”
He continued: “Turns out I did a thorough job – this is a couple of days ago – and I won’t be able to walk for a while … or sleep, without a lot of assistance, because the pain is relentless.
“So, folks … I need to go dark for a while, getting some complete rest, at home.”
The Gluteus Maximus is the largest muscle in the human body and controls the hip and thigh movement.
Chatting with Rolling Stones magazine, the veteran rocker slammed hopes of a follow up to the hit film Bohemian Rhapsody.
May, who is married to former EastEnders star Anita Dobson said: “We don’t really think there’s another movie there.
“That’s the long and the short of it. I think we should look somewhere else.
“There are other ideas that we had, but I don’t think a sequel will happen. But we have looked at it pretty seriously.”
During the coronavirus lockdown, Brian has been treating fans to mini-concerts and tutorials.
Last week, he and Freddie Mercury’s replacement in Queen, Adam Lambert, released a new version of the hit track We Are The Champions – honouring key workers.
